Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations: Theoretical and Numerical Analysis
Reaktive Strömungen, Diffusion und Transport
Topics and Aims
Analysis and Numerics of Non-Newtonian Fluids
In applications like ice mechanics, blood rheology, geology,
electrorheology or liquid crytals, the mechanics of fluid
flows differs significantly from Newtonian behavior; hence,
e.g. power-law models or models which involve additional
order parameters are used to describe their dynamics.
The primary goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers in
analysis and numerical analysis who work in this area: analysts will
report on their results which provide the basis for numerical
methods, and numerical analysts will review theoretical issues which
qualify algorithms in use.
Besides contributions by invited speakers, shorter communications
are planned to allow for intense discussions between participants.
