| Project A1: Numerical solution of transient geometric differential equations | | | This project deals with numerical methods for evolutionary
geometric differential equations with mathematical or physical
background. The aim is to design and implement algorithms for
Willmore Flow, Surface Diffusion and for minimal surfaces in the
Minkowski space in order to gain insight into the dynamic behaviour
of solutions of these problems. Plan is, to prove stability,
convergence and error estimates. The common feature of all the
equations is that the motion of a surface or an interface is driven
by curvature effects.
