Terry Gannon (Edmonton):
Deformed modular forms from string theory
The appearance of modular forms and functions in string theory goes back
over 30 years. However, when the background is not flat, analyticity
and/or modular symmetry of these functions can be lost. In this talk we will
study one-parameter deformations of classical modular forms arising in the
maximally supersymmetric plane-wave background. We will identify
the mathematical features which make these functions special.
