Kommentar
We will follow the introductory book of Nigel P. Smart. We will deal with the
following topics:
historical ciphers, Enigma machine, information theoretic security, Lorenz
cipher and modern stream ciphers, block ciphers, symmetric key distribution,
Hash function and message authentication code. Furthermore we will also study
the public key encryption, in particular:
the algorithms for public key encryption, Rabin and Paillier encryption, baby-
step/giant-step method, pollard type methods.
